Oily skin routine for Pakistan's heat: morning and night
Share
Lahore in June, Karachi humidity, dusty commutes: Pakistani weather is hard on oily skin. The good news is that a short, consistent routine works better than lots of products.
The four rules
- Clean skin gently, twice a day. Harsh scrubbing makes oil worse.
- Use light, water-based or gel textures.
- Never skip moisturiser. Dehydrated skin often makes more oil.
- Wear sunscreen every morning, even on cloudy days.
Morning
- Cleanse: a gel face wash. Try the Tea Tree Anti Acne Gel Face Wash for breakout-prone skin, or the Vitamin C Brightening Gel Face Wash if dullness is your main worry.
- Treat: The Pore Minimizer Serum with niacinamide and zinc for oil and pores.
- Moisturise: 6 Peptides Oil Free Moisturiser.
- Protect: Sheer Defence Tinted Sunscreen SPF 60. Reapply if you are outdoors for long.
Night
- Cleanse well to remove sunscreen, sweat and dust.
- Treat: 2–3 nights a week, 2% salicylic acid to keep pores clear. Other nights, repeat your niacinamide serum.
- Moisturise with the same light moisturiser.
Through the day
A face mist like the Acno Fight Mist or Hint of Rose Mist refreshes skin without adding oil. Blot with tissue instead of washing your face again and again.
Once a week
A clay or charcoal mask, such as our Activated Charcoal Mud Mask, helps soak up extra oil.
